All your family tree data stays in your browser. We use IndexedDB (a local browser database) to store your family trees, photos, and preferences. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.

What We Do Collect

We use privacy-friendly analytics (Ahrefs Web Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site. This helps us improve the tool. We collect:

  • Anonymous page views and navigation patterns
  • Browser type and device information (anonymous)
  • No personally identifiable information

Sharing Your Trees

When you use the "Share" feature, your family tree data is compressed and encoded into a URL. This URL contains your tree data, but it's only shared with people you explicitly send the link to. We do not store or access shared tree data.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies solely for site functionality. No tracking cookies or advertising cookies are used.

Third-Party Services

We may use AI features powered by Vercel AI Gateway. When you use AI features, your prompts are sent to the AI provider for processing. We recommend not including sensitive personal information in AI prompts.

Your Rights

Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you have complete control:

  • Delete your data anytime by clearing browser storage
  • Export your trees to keep backup copies
  • No account deletion needed - there are no accounts

Children's Privacy

Our service is suitable for all ages. Since we don't collect personal information, there are no special concerns regarding children's use of the tool.
